そして、実は私はこの記事で初めて知ったのだが、防災無線で避難を呼びかけていたのは遠藤さん一人ではなかったらしい。少し調べてみたら、遠藤さんの上司にあたる男性もギリギリまで無線を離さず、津波にのまれて行方不明になられたとのこと。なのに遠藤さんばかりがクローズアップされるのはなぜかというと、きっと「結婚を目前にひかえた若い娘さん」てところが好まれたんじゃないかなという気がする。今回の教材の話だって、男性や年配の女性だったら「天使」なんてつけなかっただろうし。人の死から勝手に物語を読み込んで、「泣ける話」にしちゃう風潮にはちょっと辟易。
